During 2017 and 2018, we will continue to work to promote the mission of this organization.  We will work non-stop to raise awareness about Cerebral Palsy.  We plan to do this by organizing small business networking events.  These events will allow us the chance to speak one-to-one with the mover and shakers of the community.  Everything starts with awareness!

We are planning to continue the tradition of the Cerebral Palsy Awareness Walk, Run & Stroll in Miami-Dade County, Florida and are already working on bringing that same Awareness event to Collier County, Florida. Again, Cerebral Palsy Awareness is KEY to making changes.

Lastly, we are working towards starting an Arts, Music, Massage, Yoga and Movement Program that will be funded by the monies raised through our fundraising efforts.  We also are working towards putting together social events for children and teens with special needs, to help foster friendships between them and their families.  IT TAKES A VILLAGE!

The BIG GOAL is to fund a private school in Collier County, Florida that provides a year-round, unique learning environment for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, despite their physical challenges or needs.  We envision an environment that is ALL INCLUSIVE*.  The children will have a modified curriculum that is specific to their needs and will receive one-on-one time with their special ed certified teachers.  No two children will be taught the same.  The children's family will be encouraged to have their outside therapists treat their child during or after school hours.  This will insure that parents, teachers and therapists are all working together towards the same goals. The school will provide practical life and social skills. The vision incorporates art, music, movement, massage, yoga, aquatic and hippo therapy; as well as after-care, after-school adaptive sports. service clubs, field trips and social events to foster friendships among the children.

We envision a school that will accept McKay Scholarship funding.  We will put in place financial assistance programs, that are funded through our fundraising efforts, to make sure that any child that will benefit from this school will be able to attend...regardless of financial constraints.

*There is a misconception that ALL INCLUSIVE means all children with special needs.  Unfortunately, most programs do not include those children that have physical limitations that require assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADL’s).  Activities of daily living (ADL) are routine activities that people tend do every day without needing assistance. There are six basic ADLs: eating, bathing, dressing, toileting, transferring (walking) and continence (toileting/diapers).

2017-2018 GOALS...

We make a LIVING by what we get, but we make a LIFE by what we give.

We believe that in order to succeed you must set realistic GOALS.   That is what we have done and wish to share with you.  This will give you a better understanding of where and how we plan on reaching our LONG TERM goal.
